About Ferndale Seventh-day Adventist Church

Vision:  We are a youth focused, multi-generational, multi-ethnic church that serves the community.

Mission:  To help young families of Ferndale experience a relationship with Jesus.

Ferndale Seventh-day Adventist Church is a group of people who have been transformed by the love of God and we strive to live our lives that way. We come from all walks of life but are working towards becoming more like Jesus every day. We believe that means:

  • Worshiping God in spirit and truth. John 4:24
  • Loving our neighbors as ourselves. Matthew 22:39
  • Bearing one another’s burdens. Galatians 6:2
  • Seeking justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly with God. Micah 6:8
  • Trusting in God. Psalm 9:10

Our Beliefs

We believe that God loves you, and that we are stronger when we work together!

Prairie is part of the sisterhood of churches in the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church, a mainstream Protestant church with approximately 22 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to enhance quality of life for people everywhere and to let people know that Jesus is coming again soon.

Adventists believe a Trinity of three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—make up one God. They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father's will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone.

When He returned to heaven following the resurrection, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. He promised to return to earth a second time to complete His plan of salvation and take His people to heaven. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day.

Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.

28 Fundamental Beliefs

Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as the only source of our beliefs. We consider our movement to be the result of the protestant conviction Sola Scriptura—the Bible as the only standard of faith and practice for Christians.

Currently, Adventists hold 28 fundamental beliefs that can be organized into six categories—the doctrines of God, man, salvation, the church, the Christian life and last day events. In each teaching, God is the architect, who in wisdom, grace and infinite love, is restoring a relationship with humanity that will last for eternity.
